Cloud Based Registration Management for Super 6 Soccer

Super 6 Soccer run commercial “Six a Side” soccer competitions at multiple venues in Sydney. Piapps had been working with Super6 for several years on redevelopment of the super6 website and particularly the custom player registration system which was more than ten years old and showing its age.

Super 6 is a small organisation that runs competitions all year and so finding clear time to test the registration design was always problematic.

The Covid19 Pandemic had a dramatic impact on Super6’s business. Simplest way to describe the impact is to say it fell of a cliff. Not only were upcoming competitions cancelled but the lockdown stopped the competitions in progress requiring massive refunds!

No competitions meant free time to thoroughly test the new cloud based registrations system. Piapps offered to delay invoicing until Super6’s income recovered. This allowed for several revisions by the August 2020 reopening of community sport. We also integrated the site with Service NSW “Active Kids” program API.

The effort was worthwhile! The spring player registrations were record breaking delivering a spectacular recovery from an otherwise bleak year.

Sometimes there are silver linings to even the darkest clouds!

Additional features were added after the launch including an additional payment gateway (squared) and refund management entirely within the app for all payment gateways.
